YT Fetch is a self-hosted, browser-based YouTube downloader. Paste a link, pick what you want, and it handles the rest — no installs, no clutter, no ads.
You paste a YouTube link. The server resolves it with yt-dlp, converts or remuxes the right streams with ffmpeg, and hands you a signed download link. Everything happens on your own machine — no third-party servers ever touch your files.
This tool is for personal use with content you have the rights to — your own uploads, Creative Commons works, or public-domain material. Respect YouTube's Terms of Service, creators, and your local laws.

From 144p up to 4K — pick exactly what you want and get a clean, merged MP4 that plays everywhere.
Strip the video and keep the music. MP3 at your chosen bitrate for compatibility, or M4A which keeps the original audio untouched and converts in seconds.
Manual and auto-generated captions, in dozens of languages. Choose the language and format — the file is converted for you automatically.
Grabs the highest-resolution thumbnail the video offers — not the blurry default. Great for slides, articles, and mockups.
Drop a playlist or channel link and it downloads everything — numbered files, packed into a single ZIP. Video, MP3, or thumbnails, with SRT subtitles if you want.
Every download gets a live progress bar with speed, ETA and size. Cancel mid-flight, remove finished files, or grab them again — links are signed and valid for 7 days.
Not just a pretty box: files are served through signed, expiring links; only YouTube URLs are accepted; requests are rate-limited and checked for CSRF; and the browser is locked down with a strict Content-Security-Policy.

Downloading content you have the rights to — your own uploads, Creative Commons or public-domain material — is generally fine. For everything else, respect the creator, YouTube's Terms of Service, and your local laws. This tool is for personal use.
Upload a cookies.txt export from your own browser in the footer (e.g. via the "Get cookies.txt LOCALLY" extension). The app will use your session to access that content. Your cookies never leave this server.
MP3 re-encodes the audio at your chosen bitrate (128–320 kbps) — maximum compatibility. M4A keeps the original audio stream as-is: no quality loss and much faster, but some older players prefer MP3.
Yes — paste the playlist or channel URL, and the Playlist tab packs everything into one numbered ZIP (video, MP3, or thumbnails, optionally with SRT subtitles). Big playlists take a while; you can track progress and cancel anytime.
Files are stored in the downloads/ folder on the server running this app. "Save file" buttons use signed links that stay valid for 7 days. You can clear everything from the housekeeping card below.
Permanently remove all downloaded files from the server and clear the download history. This cannot be undone.
